Hello friends and how have we all been this week?
Good, I hope?
After last weekends long run I found myself, midweek, succumbing to the office/bus lurgy that has been doing the rounds over the past few months.
So how can I turn this experience into something useful for you?
Well, I thought it may be a good time to mention diet and how eating good quality food can help us not only lose weight but help our immune system too.
This isn’t a long post and I am only covering one key troublemaker here…
PROCESSED SUGAR IS BAD FOR YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM…
More importantly, the processed sugar in our foods along with the excessively high sugar loads in fruit concentrates and juices.
You wouldn’t sit down and comfortably have a meal of several apples, would you? Well, that’s what you might be getting in sugar intake from a glass of shop-bought apple juice made from concentrate.
Eating or drinking large quantities of sugar will curb the immune system by suppressing the cells that attack bacteria etc.
This effect can last for at least a few hours!
So look out for excess sugar in your diet and help your immune system stay ahead of the game.
Eating more fruits and vegetables, which are rich in nutrients like vitamins C and E, plus beta-carotene and zinc will also help.
As always I would love to hear your thoughts.
Have an awesome week
