Back Pain Relief

Need some relief from your back pain? When it comes to back pain relief you can look at medication to temporarily ease the pain or you can go to the root cause and put in some work to help with long term back pain relief and prevention. I was recently asked what exercise I would use for relieving back pain, following an accident and all clear from the GP. This post is my thoughts and reply to that queston. How do I relieve my back pain? Firstly I would suggest having a look at the bodyweight or none loaded exercises, like the ones in theRead More →

Get Rid of Belly Fat

I recently reached out on via FaceBook and asked what burning questions people had.  One of them was “How do you get rid of the last bit of fat around your belly without starving yourself half to death” In this post, I aim to answer that question and throw in a few suggestions on exercises to get rid of belly fat. Short of liposuction, Unfortunately, there is no way to specifically get rid of belly fat. Sad but true. The human body is perfectly designed to both store and utilise fat all over the body, not just belly fat. Yes, some people have slightly differentRead More →

What Is vitamin B12? Vitamin B12 is a micronutrient and it helps the body maintain nerve and blood cells, keeping them healthy and helping in the manufacture of new DNA, the genetic material in all cells. Vitamin B12 is also important in the prevention of a type of anaemia known as megaloblastic anaemia, which makes people tired and weak. Also called cobalamin Vit B12, is water-soluble andRead More →

Hello. As some of you may have read, I will be running the Bath ½ marathon in March. I will be running this with a bunch of other great people from the office where I work and we are running in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity. I will be attempting to race 13.1 Miles for the first time in several years and off the back of double Achilles tendonitis. Please show your support by donating a little to the charity… You can help me raise money for this great cause by donating directly to my office’s fundraising page – https://www.justgiving.com/Bath-Half-Marathon-March-2019. Back from this mornings early long run. Nothing special just a 6:30 am slow 10 miles along the Bristol Portway, watching the sunrise and listening to the sounds of nature waking up to a damp and cool Sunday morning. Although I have been running to work more often recently, 10 miles is still a big increase in my normal long runs of late. why? well because I felt like it and mentally I knew I could do it… So what is the point of this weekends post? Well, I want to throw 2 points out there this week and see if any of them helpRead More →

Hi everybody, how are your new year’s resolutions going? Its the second full week of January and statistically you will either be smashing it and progressing nicely with your new year’s resolutions or, and sadly this is more likely, you will be flagging or have given up already. But there is no need to get down and give up on your goals just try approaching them from a different angle. In my blog post “How to set realistic new year’s resolutions and goals” I discuss how to get the best result from your goals… “Think in terms of small manageable changes.” 1 It must attachRead More →

whole-body vibration training

Top 10 Prominent People Who Are Into Whole-Body Vibration Training Whole-body vibration training is a great way to get in shape. After all, always working out hard doesn’t sound all that enticing, does it? Running around for miles, doing dozens of pushups, HIIT or even lifting weights is just too strenuous. If you’re a young twenty-something-year-old who wants to achieve a certain body type, maybe this sounds inviting, but for those who aren’t, there might be better exercises to do in order to stay fit. One such exercise is whole-body vibration training. Perhaps the reason why whole-body vibration training isn’t all that well-known yet isRead More →

With regards to training, this past week has been a bit hit and miss for me. Yes, I am training for the Bath 1/2 marathon but it is coming off the back of near 3 months of a near chest infection and a further 2 months of getting energy back and a helping of Christmas and new year. Which leads me onto my point. It is never too late to start chasing your fitness goals and there will always be times when you seem to have gone backwards and have to start again. The important thing is to never give up on yourself and keepRead More →

Shakesphere review

I recently had the chance to try out a Shakesphere which is a shaker with a difference. The difference is that the inside of the shakesphere is round, so no tight corners for your powder to get trapped in, and we all know how annoying it is to get a load of unmixed protein powder stuck in the bottom of your shaker. The first thing I noticed was the finish. It has a slight rubbery feeling to it which gives it a nice matte finish, there are also Frosted and Gloss versions available. The Shakesphere also has a nice sliding cap, unlike conventional shaker capsRead More →
